Breast Center of Excellence Designation

Delnor  Hospital's Center for Breast Health  has been designated as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology (ACR). This status recognizes breast imaging centers that have earned accreditation in all of the ACR's voluntary, breast-imaging accreditation programs, in addition to the mandatory Mammography Accreditation Program. Delnor is the first hospital in the Fox Valley to achieve this honor.

"This designation demonstrates that the work performed by The Delnor Center for Breast Health goes well beyond seeing patients and reporting results," said Sharmishtha Jayachandran, M.D., the center's medical director. "In fact, the high quality of our work meets the stringent standards set by the ACR, which in turn complements our own standards of excellence that we strive to meet."

The Delnor Center for Breast Health is fully accredited in digital mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, breast ultrasound and ultrasound-guided breast biopsy. The center also provides breast self-exam education, breast nurse navigator, bone density testing and genetic counseling. Peer-review evaluations, conducted in each breast imaging modality by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field, have determined that the center has achieved high practice standards in image quality, personnel qualifications, facility equipment, quality control procedures and quality assurance programs.
